Under the auspices of the nationally renowned engineering program Project Lead The Way, Damien offers a series of engineering courses that bolster our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) curriculum. This engineering program focuses on problem-based, hands-on learning where students have the opportunity to create, design, build, discover, collaborate, and solve problems while applying what they have learned in their math and science classes. Damien’s STEM club goes beyond the classroom curriculum by sponsoring field trips, internships, workplace experiences, robotics competitions, catapult building, and much more!
Involvement in student activities outside of the classroom is an important aspect of the Damien High School experience and a valuable educational opportunity. Often times, it is the experiences that come through extra-curricular involvement that are the most enriching and memorable. Additionally, participation in student activities allows for students to form friendships beyond the classroom, feel more connected to the school community, and to further pursue their various interests.
